Statistics: First estimate shows Russia’s GDP falling 8.5% Apr–Jun
MOSCOW, Aug 11 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) fell 8.5% in April–June, which is better than the Economic Development Ministry’s assessment of a 9.6% decrease, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement on Tuesday citing preliminary estimates.
“The preliminary estimate of the physical GDP volume index stood at 91.5% in the second quarter of 2020 as compared with the same period of 2019,” the service said.
All the economy sectors but agriculture demonstrated a decline in the period, the service said.
